The Ultimate Fighting Championship celebrated Halloween night in spectacular fashion at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, delivering a card filled with violent finishes, bloody battles, and standout performances. UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Nolan provided plenty of fireworks for the costumed crowd in attendance, capped off by a massive statement victory in the lightweight division.
For those who followed our Halloween showdown preview, the main event delivered exactly the kind of high-stakes drama that was anticipated, as a rising contender officially broke through against an established veteran.
Tom Nolan Secures Signature Win Over Renato Moicano
In his first-ever UFC main event, Tom Nolan proved he belongs in the upper echelon of the lightweight division. Nolan secured his sixth consecutive victory by stopping battle-tested veteran Renato Moicano in the third round. The bout was a gritty affair early on, with Moicano attempting to use his vast grappling experience to neutralize Nolan’s striking.
However, Nolan’s power and precision ultimately took over. In the third round, Nolan trapped Moicano against the fence and unleashed a brutal barrage of elbows and strikes. The referee was forced to step in and wave off the contest at the 1:28 mark of Round 3, awarding Nolan the biggest win of his career via KO/TKO and sending a clear message to the 155-pound weight class.
Jacobe Smith Dominates Randy Brown in Co-Main Event
The co-main event featured a spectacular showcase from undefeated prospect Jacobe Smith. Stepping up as a replacement for Carlos Leal, Smith took full advantage of the spotlight against seasoned welterweight Randy Brown.
Smith utilized relentless pressure and superior grappling to completely stifle Brown’s offensive output. Over the course of three rounds, Smith dictated the pace and location of the fight, leaving no doubt in the judges’ minds. When the final bell rang, Smith was awarded a lopsided unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the bout 30-26 in his favor.
Undercard Highlights: Erosa and Kropschot Shine
The undercard featured several quick and decisive finishes that kept the Las Vegas crowd energized. Veteran Julian Erosa wasted no time in his matchup against JeongYeong Lee, finding his range early and putting Lee away with a barrage of punches just 1:31 into the very first round.
In the grappling department, Joseph Kropschot delivered one of the most technical submissions of the evening. Facing Nick Klein, Kropschot beautifully transitioned into a triangle armbar, forcing the tap at 1:25 of the second round and adding a highlight-reel finish to his resume.
Blood and Battles: Doctor Stoppages and Hard-Fought Decisions
The Halloween card also saw its fair share of grueling, bloody encounters. Two separate bouts were halted due to severe cuts, resulting in doctor stoppages. Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani earned a TKO victory over Farman Hasanov at 2:11 of the third round after a cut rendered Hasanov unable to continue. Earlier in the night, Rodrigo Sezinando defeated Theodor Berggren in a similar fashion, with the ringside physician stopping the fight at the end of the second round.
Elsewhere on the card, Cody Durden and Ode Osbourne engaged in a highly competitive three-round battle, with Durden edging out a unanimous decision (29-28 across the board). Zachary Reese also put on a dominant display against UFC veteran Mickey Gall, utilizing heavy strikes and control to win a wide unanimous decision (29-27 on all three scorecards).
